The Clinic Module in Schoolscan is designed to help school medical staff efficiently record, manage, and retrieve students' and staff medical information.
Module Objectives
To digitally store and maintain accurate medical records for students and staff.
To facilitate proper documentation of clinic visits and medical incidents.
To support communication between the school clinic and relevant stakeholders (e.g., parents, teachers) with verified medical information.
Patient List
This is the central directory of all students and staff registered in the Clinic Module.
Search for a student/staff by name.
Click on a patient's name to view their medical history or add new records.
Adding a Medical Note
To record a clinic visit or medical incident:
Click on the Medical Notes icon next to the student's name.
Fill in the required details:
Check-up Date
Next Appointment Date (if applicable)
Chief Complaint (main reason for the visit)
Vital Signs (e.g., temperature, blood pressure, pulse)
Weight
Systems Review (e.g., respiratory, digestive, neurological, etc.)
Symptoms
Diagnosis
Treatment
Intervention (e.g., rest, medication given, referral)
Remarks
Incident Location (e.g., classroom, field, cafeteria)
Click Save to store the record.
Viewing & Editing Medical Records
To view existing medical records for a student:
Navigate to the Medical Records section.
Use the search bar or scroll to find the student.
Click on the arrow icon in the Action column to expand and view the medical notes.
To Edit an Existing Note:
Click on the three dots (•••) in the Action column.
Select Edit Note.
Make the necessary updates and click Save.
Data Confidentiality Reminder
Please note that all medical data entered into the system is sensitive and should be handled in accordance with school policies and relevant privacy laws. Only authorized personnel should access and manage medical records.
